Sexual Assault Awareness Month: Wear Teal Day
April 3rd was Wear Teal Day. The month of April is Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month. In 2000, sexual violence coalitions across the country voted to designate the color teal as the official color of Sexual Assault Awareness Month and the teal ribbon was adopted as a symbol of awareness and prevention. Teal is associated with trust, devotions, and healing.
At USB, in support of our Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault shelter, Santuary, Inc. some employees wore teal, others had teal ribbon stickers and some made signs as to why they wore teal. We want to ask others to join us in the anti-violence efforts this month.
