Several USB Team members attended the Salute to Agriculture Breakfast held at The Bruce.
It was great to hear all the exciting news about Christian County farmers. In 2020 in KY, they ranked #1 in winter wheat production, #2 in corn production, and #4 in soybean production.
This was also the platform where we all learned that Hopkinsville is now trademarked as Batter Capital of the World. Brooke Jung, Executive Director of the Hopkinsville Convention & Visitors Bureau unveiled the new name. Widely known for its annual production of Ghirardelli brownie mix, Krusteaz products, Cracker Barrel biscuit mix, Red Lobster Cheddar Bay biscuit mix, SunFlour cornmeal, flour, and countless others, Hopkinsville and Christian County serves as Kentucky’s leader in wheat production — with more than 3.5 million bushels annually harvested from its 46,200 acres of farmland.
With industries such as Hopkinsville Milling Company, Siemer Milling, and Continental Mills — it’s easy to see why Christian County has the trophy for the best batter.
