We are thrilled to share that our HR Director, Martha Argotte, was awarded the J. William Flowers Memorial Award at the United Way of the Pennyrile Dinner. She was also announced as the 2024-25 campaign chair.
The J. William Flowers Memorial Award was created by the Board of Directors in Hopkinsville – Christian County United Way on December 1, 1982. It was established as an annual award presentation to honor, commemorate, and preserve in remembrance Mr. J. William Flowers for his tireless dedication and invaluable contributions to the United Way and to this community.
The award is presented with appreciation to an outstanding individual from within the community who has become distinguished by demonstrated eminent and meritorious service to the United Way of the Pennyrile Annual Campaign. The following prayer of St. Francis typifies the spirit of J. William Flowers and this Memorial Award.
Prayer of St. Francis
Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy;
O Divine Master, grant that I may seek not so much to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; for it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
Amen
