Each quarter, we take a moment to shine the spotlight on someone truly outstanding, a team member who not only brings talent and dedication to their role but also embodies the very core of our values and mission. The Employee Spotlight is our way of recognizing those who strive at developing new skills, consistently showing up with a strong work ethic, collaborating and making a real impact.
This quarter, we are excited to shine the Spotlight on Kylee Spurr. After graduating in 2021, Kylee began her career at United Southern Bank’s Main Office as a part-time teller at the age of 18. “What started as a way to gain experience quickly turned into something much more meaningful. I fell in love with community banking — the relationships, the teamwork, and the real impact we get to make in people’s lives every day”. Demonstrating a strong work ethic and eagerness to grow, Kylee was quickly promoted to Loan Assistant to the Chief Lending Officer and Christian County Market President.
Most recently, Kylee was honored to receive the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) Next Gen Scholarship, an award that recognizes emerging leaders in community banking. This opportunity allowed her to attend the annual LEAD FWD Summit, a conference dedicated to leadership development, innovation, and the future of community banking.
Kylee stated, “USB has truly become a big part of my heart. I believe in what we do and in the lasting difference that community banking makes. What I love most about USB is how deeply connected we are to the people and places we serve — we’re not just their bank; we’re their neighbors and friends. I’m proud to be part of a team that values integrity, service, and community, and I’m excited to continue helping build a stronger, more forward-thinking future for community banking — right here in Hopkinsville and beyond.”
Outside of work, Kylee loves traveling and visiting new places, whether it’s a quick road trip or an adventure somewhere completely new. She also enjoys spending time with family and cheering on her nieces in everything they do, from the soccer field to the dance stage and all the little moments in between. These experiences mean the most to Kylee and remind her how important it is to slow down and enjoy the people and places that make life so special.
