We have received reports of customers being targeted by a sophisticated scam involving impersonators claiming to be from “Geek Squad.”

How the scam works: 

Scammers send fake emails or text messages stating that a subscription is renewing for several hundred dollars. The message includes a fraudulent “support number” and urges you to call. If contacted, the scammer may attempt to gain remote access to your computer or ask for sensitive banking information.

How to protect yourself:

• Do not call phone numbers provided in unexpected messages.
• Never share online banking credentials or personal information.
• Do not allow unknown individuals remote access to your device.
